Lease Return Inspection and Process
Courtesy Pre-Inspection
Around 45-50 days before your lease-end date, contact us to schedule a courtesy pre-inspection. An independent inspector evaluates your Subaru, documenting wear and use to help identify any potential charges.
The inspector provides a detailed condition report outlining any excessive wear or use issues. This is not a bill but helps inform your decisions before lease-end.
Excess Wear and Use Statement
Within two to three weeks post-inspection, you'll receive an Excess Wear and Use statement detailing potential charges for identified excessive wear. Remember, your lease includes a $1,000 wear and use waiver, which will be factored into your final bill.
If you choose to repair items noted on your report, contact Subaru Motors Finance prior to returning your vehicle to verify repairs and potentially reduce your final bill.

Tips for an Easy Lease-End Process
Your Final Payment
Your last lease payment is due one month before your lease ends. Cancel recurring payments to prevent overpayment. Any credits or charges (mileage, wear, disposition fees) will appear clearly on your end-of-term bill.
Early Termination
Returning your Subaru more than 30 days before the scheduled end date constitutes early termination and may incur charges unless it’s a lease buy-out or trade-in.
End-of-Term Billing
Your final bill may include outstanding payments, excess mileage, wear/use charges, and a disposition fee (usually $300). Review your lease agreement carefully for details. Subaru of Jacksonville does not charge additional fees at lease return.
Lease Extension
In the final 30 days, you may request a lease extension up to five months, subject to approval.
Odometer Statement
A signed odometer disclosure statement is required at lease return.
